A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TIBURON PROCLAIMING PUBLIC
SCHOOLS lolEEK APRIL 24-38. 1967.
WHEREAS America's security for the future lies in her public schools.
Enlightened citizenship is the cornerstone of American freedom, and the public
school is the instrument by which that cornerstone is laid.
WHEREAS This nation's achievement of universal public education for
all has contributed to our precious heritage of freedom and independence,
seeking liberty and dignity for all Americans.
WHEP~AS The school population grows in a dramtically changing world,
as expanding knowledge adds demands; and as the patterns of social change
make their impact, the challenge to our public schools becomes increasingly
monumental and complex.
WHEREAS The informed, continuous and active interest, encouragement
and support of the people of the community for their public schools is
essential;
N<Jol, THEREFORE, HE do proclaim April 24-28 as PUBLIC SCHOOLS WEEK
in Tiburon and call upon citizens of this community to attend and participate
in all observances and activities appropriate thereto.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a r~gular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Tiburon held on
April 10
