HomeMy WebLinkAboutTC Res 1967-06-12 (2) RESOLUTION NO. ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TIBURON ESTABLISHING POLICY FOR THE AWARD OF MEDALLIONS AND CITY KEYS. The City Council of the City of Tiburon hereby resolves as follows: WHEr~AS, the City of Tiburon has acquired a City Seal Medallion and a City Key; and WHEREAS, it is desired to establish a policy for awarding the Medal- lions and Keys to worthy recipients; NUv, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following policy be estab- lished as a guideline: 1. The Tiburon City Seal Medallion should be awarded to persons who have served the City of Tiburon in an official capacity, such as former City Council members, former City Commissioners and, in appropriate cases, former Staff members. The Medallion should be mounted upon a plaque bearing an inscription reading as follows: "(Name of recipie.n't) CITY OF TIBURON In Appreciation for Service as (dates)_" The Medallion should be awarded as a matter of ourse upon the termination of service of any such official, whether upon completion of term of office or upon resignation for reasonable cause. The Medallion presentation should be questioned only under circumstances where embarrassment to the City might result. 2. The Tiburon City Key should be presented to those persons who have served the City in an uQcfficial capacity; that is, other than as Council- men, Commissioners, Staff members, or Board members. The City Key shall be discriminately awarded in order to preserve its high prestige value. Presenta- tion of the Key is intended to serve as official recognition of those who have served Tiburon or brought honor upon the City. It shall also be awarded to honor our distinguished visitors. 3. The City Clerk shall maintain a permanent log which shall contain the following information: the name of the recipient; the type of award (whether Medallion or Key); the capacity in which the recipient served the City; the dates of service; and the date of the award. 6/15/67 City of Tiburon held on June 12 PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the , 1967, by the following vote: COUNCILMEN: Bremer, Drohan, Fanning, Hoffmire, Strawbridge AYES: NOES: COUNCILMEN: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None ATTEST: ~. ~ ~~o /.
