A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF TIBURON COMMENDING GEORGE AND PHYLLIS
ELLMAN FOR THEIR YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE
AND MANY CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE TIBURON COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, George Ellman Served as Tiburon Parks and
Recreation Commissioner from 1967 to 1971, and
WHEREAS, Phyllis Ellman served as Tiburon Parks and
Recreation Commissioner from 1973 to 1974, and
WHEREAS, George Ellman served as Tiburon Councilman
from 1974 to 1978, and as Mayor from 1975 to 1976, and
WHEREAS, George and Phyllis Ellman are recognized as
Founder and co-founder respectively of Tiburon's annual
community picnic and AYALA DAY celebration, and
WHEREAS, George and Phyllis Ellman have collectively
contributed so much of their personal time and energy assisting
the Town of Tiburon achieve its many goals and objectives during
the past fifteen (15) critical and formative years, and
WHEREAS, the names of George and Phyllis Ellman will
long be associated with Tiburon's Trails Plan, Ayala Day, Open
Space Acquisition, MCKegney Green, Richardson Bay Lineal Park,
Landmarks Preservation, Undergrounding of Utilities, Lanes and
Paths, Botanical Expertise, Old St. Hilary's, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Ellman will always be remembered
by P.G.&E. and Pacific Telephone as the Town of Tiburon's
special liaison, and
WHEREAS, there is insufficient space to list each
specific "whereas" attributable to the various activities,
projects and programs undertaken by George and Phyllis Ellman
in their continued dedication to the Town of Tiburon.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Council of
the Town of Tiburon does hereby express its regret at the
departure of George and Phyllis Ellman from Tiburon;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Council of the
Town of Tiburon does hereby declare on behalf of the citizens
of Tiburon its sincere appreciation to the Ellmans for their
many contributions and dedicated service to the community;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Council of the
Town of Tiburon does publicly recognize and commend George and
Phyllis Ellman, and express best wishes to them in their new
location.
PASSED AND ADOPTED, at a regular meeting of the
Town Council of the Town of Tiburon on September 3 , 1980,
by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Edelstein, Bergsund, Hanson
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
