RESOLUTION NO. 1109
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF TIBURON SUPPORTING THE TIBURON HERITAGE
COMMISSION'S APPLICATION TO THE SAN FRANCISCO
FOUNDATION (BUCK TRUST)
WHEREAS, the Stone Tower is one of Tiburon's historical
buildings, listed on the National Register of Historical
Places, and
WHEREAS, the Stone Tower was designated as Tiburon's
first Town Historical Landmark, and
WHEREAS, there is overwhelming public support for
the repairs and preservation of the Stone Tower, and
WHEREAS, Phase I repairs ($12,000) to the Stone Tower
have now been completed and the costs funded by public donations
and a small contribution by the Town, and
WHEREAS, the Heritage Commission wishes to proceed
now with the final repair phases, and
WHEREAS, one of the funding goals and objectives of
the San Francisco Foundation are projects which add to the
quality, enjoyment and appreciation of life in Marin County by
contributing to the aesthetic, physical and social well-being
of the community, and
WHEREAS, the Stone Tower will be of significant
educational and historical value to the Town of Tiburon;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Council
of the Town of Tiburon does hereby unanimously support application
by the Tiburon Heritage Commission to the San Francisco Foundation
(Buck Trust) for funding assistance.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at the regular meeting of the Town
Council of the Town of Tiburon on September 3, 1980, by the
following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Edelstein, Bergsund, Hanson, Bass
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Rockey
