RESOLUTION NO. 680
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TIBURON REQUESTING THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANS-
PORTATION IMMEDIATELY PREPARE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
FOR THE PROPOSED REALIGNMENT OF TIBURON BOULEVARD IN
TIBURON, CALIFORNIA BETWEEN REED RANCH ROAD AND STEWART
DRIVE
WHEREAS, the City of Tiburon is concerned with the condition
and alignment of existing State Highway Route 131 (Tiburon Blvd.)
in the Trestle Glen area, and
WHEREAS, a plan for improvement of the section of Route 131
(Tiburon Blvd.) between Reed Ranch Road and Stewart Drive has been
jointly developed by the City of Tiburon and the State Department
of Transportation (CAL/TRANS), and
WHEREAS, CAL/TRANS has transmitted a plan map No. 101461-5
to the City of Tiburon by letter of August 9, 1974, indicating
details of the proposed realignment project on Tiburon Blvd.
between Reed Ranch Road and Stewart Drive, and
WHEREAS, said plan map No. 101461-5 is in general conformance
with the recommendations of the City of Tiburon, and
WHEREAS, the Marin County Urban Selection Committee has
been formed and has approved a three year program of projects it
considers eligible for Federal-Aid Urban funds, and
WHEREAS, said Committee has selected the above described
project to be included in the three year program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Tiburon requests that the State Department of
Transportation immediately commence preparation of final design
plans and acquisition of right-of-way for the realignment of
Tiburon Blvd. as shown on map No. 101461-5 with the following
provisions:
1. That the width of pavement at Stewart Drive be
approximately 66 (sixty-six) feet.
2. That the design include replacement bus stops in the
vicinity of Trestle Glen, such bus stops to be designed
to minimize paving.

3. That prior to final submission of drawings, a mutually
satisfactory agreement be achieved for a transfer of
lands between the City and CAL/TRANS.
4. That all final construction drawings, traffic control
devices and traffic signals, landscaping, lighting of
underpass and appearance of retaining walls be subject
to the approval of the City of Tiburon.
5. That all planning also include undergrounding of
utilities in the area if possible.
6. That CAL/TRANS demonstrate to the City of Tiburon that
the proposed four lane roadway bisecting Blackie's
_Pasture~is Lbe most reasonable solution to the problem.
7. That CAL/TRANS remove the roadbed from that portion of
Tiburon Highway which becomes excess to its needs and
deeds said property to the City of Tiburon.
8. That Blackie's grave be moved if it is within 10 (ten)
feet of the bank of the proposed alignment.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Tiburon held on September 23, 1974, by the following
vote:
