RESOLUTION NO. 621
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TIBURON
PROCLAlMING TIIE MONTH OF JUNE IN THE YEAR 1974 TO BE
TIBURON ANNIVERSARY MONTH
WHEREAS: One Hundred Years ago, in the year 1874, leaders in the
ranching community on the Tiburon Peninsula, in their concern for education,
established the first school in the present City of Tiburon, and
WHEREAS: Ninety years ago, in the year 1884, Point Tiburon, because
of its proximity to San Francisco, was chosen as the site of a terminal for
trains and ferry boats and fram this waterfront settlement grew a town, and
WHEREAS: Ten years ago, in the year 1964, the people of this town
felt the need for enhanced and expanded governmental services, and in a free
election voted to establish tae City of Tiburon.
NOW, THEREFORE, WE DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
THAT the month of June in the year 1974, be proclaimed Tiburon's
Anniversary month during which all the citizens of the City and our neighbors
as well, are urged to reflect our heritage and good fortune to live in this
time and in this place.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Tiburon on the 22nd day of April, 1974, by the following vote:
