RESOLUTION NO.~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TIBURON
HONORING WILLIAM S. ~ILIARD FOR HIS ~NY YFARS OF DEDI-
CA TED PUBLIC SERVICE AS CONGRESSM\N, SIXTH CONGRESSIONAL
DISTRICT, CALIFORNIA
WHEREAS: William S. Maillar-l has faithfully and diligently served the
State of California, the County of Marin, and the cities of Marin as Sixth District
Congressman for over twenty-one years, and
WHEREAS: William S. Maillard has been singularly honored by the
President of the United States in his recent appointment to the position of Perma-
nent Representative of the United States Organization of American States, with the
rank of Ambassador, and
WHEREAS, as Congressman William Maillard, generously gave his time and
support on numerous occasions in assisting the City of Tiburon in obtaining various
Federal information and grant funding data, more specifically, the Open Space Acqui-
sition Grant from HUD in 1972 for the Richardson Bay Bicycle and Pedestrian Path,
NOW, 'IHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of
Tiburon does hereby publicly commend and express its sincere appreciation to
William Maillard for his many years of o~tstanding and dedicated public service, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council extends its best wishes to
William S. Maillard in his new and challenging position.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Tiburon held on March 11, 1974, by the following vote:
