RESOLUTION OF mE CrYi COUNCIL OF '1'HE C1TY OF TIBURON
DECLARING 11ffi WEEK OF FEBRUARY 24, 1974 THROUGH MARCH
3, 1974 AS KQED ~~EK
WHEREAS:
Public Broadcasting Station KQED ha~ served the citizens of
Tiburon as well as millions of otheL Northern California residents since 1954;
~nd
WHEREAS:
These KQED services include notable cultural programs invol-
ving local, national, and intervational artists and performers; public affairs
programs with full and complete exarin tion of critical ilsues affecting citiaens
of Tlburon; comprehensive televisiun presentation of~ate and national political
candidates and representatives; access to media by a wide variety of specialized
groups including ethnic minorities; adult education and quality televised in-
etruction for school children; and
WHEREAS :
KQED has also produced distinguished programs for viewing
throughout the entire United States, which programs have reflected favorably
~pon all of Northern California; and
WHEREAS:
These services have been almost totally aependent upon tndiv.
idual and private contributions for funding and hence such support should be
encouraged;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That February 24, 1974 through March 3.
1974 be declared KQED Week and that all citizens of Tiburon be especially
~rged to view KQED, Channel 9, during that week and that those citizens who
contribute to KQED are hereby commended tor their support of this worthy civic
enterprise.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a re~ular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Tiburon held on
February 25th
. 1974, by the following vote:
