RESOLUTION NO. 762
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TIBURON SUPPORTING AND APPROVING
PLACEMENT OF MARKERS ALONG THE SALT WORKS
CANAL AND WITHIN THE TIBURON CITY LIMITS
AND URGING EXPEDITIOUS COMPLETION OF THE
PROJECT FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE HARBOR
SEALS WINTERING GROUNDS
WHEREAS, the natural habitat of the Pacific Coast Harbor
Seal has become endangered in the Strawberry Spit area adjacent
to and including a portion of the City of Tiburon, and
WHEREAS, the effective placement of markers and speed
limit signs along the Salt Works Canal could reduce the existing
hazards and possibly create a suitable breeding and living
climate, and
WHEREAS, the protection of such life forms is not only
a legal requirement of governmental agencies, but a moral respon-
sibility,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Tiburon does hereby approve and support the placement
of markers and speed limit signs along the Salt Works Canal and
within the City Limits of the City of Tiburon, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Tiburon urges expeditious completion of the project prior to
the forthcoming arrival of the seals to their wintering grounds.

of the City of Tiburon on October 14
