RESOLUTION NO. 750
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TIBURON
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO MAURICE LAFFERTY AS THE CITY'S
FIRST CHIEF OF POLICE
WHEREAS, Maurice D. "Mike" Lafferty has served as Chief
of Police since the Department's inception in 1972 to the present;
and
WHEREAS, Chief Lafferty was instrumental in the smooth
transition from the contractural police services with the County
of Marin to the formation of Tiburon's own Police Department; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure with the City, Chief Lafferty
has always displayed a sincere interest in the Tiburon community
beyond his normal duty requirements, and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Tiburon are the beneficiaries of
both his extensive background and expertise, and his overall con-
tributions have added considerably to the growth and betterment of
Tiburon community life;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Tiburon does hereby express its deep and sincere appre-
ciation to Chief Lafferty for the outstanding manner in which he
discharged his responsibilities and performed his professional duties;
and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Tiburon on behalf of its citizens expresses best wishes to Maurice D.
"Mike" Lafferty for success and happiness in his new assignment.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Tiburon on August 25, 1975 by the following vote:
