A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TIBURON
CELEBRATING DIVERSITY IN THE TIBURON COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, Tiburon residents and leaders value all members of our community; and
WHEREAS, the Town wishes to condemn acts of recent anti-Semitic graffiti at a school
and in downtown Tiburon; and
WHEREAS, the Town wants to reassure its residents and visitors that Tiburon has no
place for hate and is a community that celebrates diversity and inclusion.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Town Council of the Town of Tiburon takes this opportunity
to reinforce our commitment to a diverse, supportive, inclusive, and protective community and
resolves as follows:
Section 1. The Town does not tolerate and will speak out against any bias-based
discrimination, harassment, or any hate crimes, hate incidents, prejudice and bigotry in all
forms.
Section 2. The Town of Tiburon recognizes, values and will proactively work to promote
diversity and inclusion within our community.
Section 3. The Town will oppose any attempts to undermine the safety, security, and
rights of any member of our community.
Section 4. The Tiburon Town Council will lead by example to educate ourselves and our
community, to promote safety, security, and respect for human and constitutional rights,
and welcomes opportunities to partner with the State Legislature, other jurisdictions,
local organizations, educational institutions, residents, and businesses that support and
defend all individuals in Tiburon.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a special meeting of the Tiburon Town Council on
November 29, 2018.
