A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TIBURON AUTHORIZING THE
INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS AT THE
INTERSECTION OF
HILARY DRIVE AND ROCK HILL DRIVE
WHEREAS, the Town of Tiburon is authorized to install and maintain such traffic control
devices as may be necessary and proper to warn and guide traffic on the Town's public streets; and
WHEREAS, the Town's Police Department has received numerous complaints that
uncontrolled vehicular traffic at the intersection of Hilary Drive and Rock Hill Drive creates a hazard
for both pedestrians and vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the subject intersection experiences a high volume of traffic, with frequent
reports of vehicles traveling at excessive speeds; and several children walking and riding bicycles to
the nearby school have narrowly escaped being struck by motor vehicles at the intersection; and
WHEREAS, the Tiburon Peninsula Traffic Safety Committee determined that a hazard exists
at the subject intersection and recommended that the Town install stop signs on all sides of the
intersection of Hilary Drive and Rock Hill Drive; and

WHEREAS, on January 6, 2002, the Town Council of the Town of Tiburon approved an
implementation plan for traffic safety improvements which included installation of stop signs at the
subject intersection; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council concurs with the findings and recommendation of the
Tiburon Peninsula Traffic Safety Committee,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town ofTiburon to
authorize and direct the Town Engineer to install stop signs on all sides of the intersection of Hilary
Drive and Rock Hill Drive.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town ofTiburon
on April 3, 2002, by the following vote:
