RESOLUTION NO. 47-2021
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TIBURON ADOPTING AN UPDATED TIBURON PENINSULA EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN WHEREAS, the Town of Tiburon is subject to earthquake, fire, flood and other serious
hazards; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Tiburon faces the possibility of being isolated from other surrounding communities and any subsequent resources; and
WHEREAS, the overall objective of emergency management for the Town of Tiburon
is to ensure the effective management of response forces and resources in preparing for and responding to situations associated with natural disasters, technological incidents and national security emergencies; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council adopted Ordinance No. 80 N.S. on December 13,
1971, directing the development of an emergency plan; and WHEREAS, the Town Council adopted Resolution 06-2019 on March 6, 2019, adopting the Marin County Multijurisdictional Local Hazard Mitigation Plan, which identifies
the importance of an Emergency Operations Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Tiburon is committed to provide effective life safety measures while reducing property loss and damage to the environment and provide for rapid resumption of impacted businesses and community services; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Tiburon is responsible for emergency actions and will commit all available resources to save lives, minimize injury to persons, and minimize damage to property and the environment; and
WHEREAS, the Tiburon Peninsula Emergency Operations Plan serves as a basis for
effective response to any hazard that threatens the Town of Tiburon and as a legal and conceptual framework for emergency management in the Town of Tiburon; and WHEREAS, the Town of Tiburon recognized its dependence on the County of Marin,
and Marin Operational Area Services Organizations, for certain emergency and resource services
this town might not be able to provide for itself during a Local Emergency, State of Emergency, or State of War Emergency condition as contemplated by the State of California Emergency Services Act, and;
WHEREAS, the Town of Tiburon recognizes that the County of Marin and the Marin
Operational Areas adopts emergency plans, attachments and annexes that may be meaningfully applied to support the Town of Tiburon during a disaster.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council commits to continuing to support the actions identified in the Tiburon Peninsula Emergency Operations
Plan, and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOVLED that the Town of Tiburon hereby adopts the Tiburon Peninsula Emergency Operations Plan and those attachments and annexes referenced in said plan.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tiburon this 15th day of December, 2021, by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Fredericks, Ryan, Welner
