HomeMy WebLinkAboutTC Res 1994-12-05 (3) r- RESOLUTION NO. 3068 I A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TIBURON DECLARING DECEMBER 8, 1994 AS "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH DAY" WHEREAS, our newspapers and television barrage us daily with unending stories of teen violence, and WHEREAS, the aim of "Enough is Enough Day" is to encourage teens to practice conscious acts of goodwill towards one another and restrain from violent acts as an affirmation of the goodness and generosity of the human spirit, and WHEREAS, by restraining from acts of violence and practicing acts of goodwill during this day, we have an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the powerful and positive effects these acts may have on our own lives and lives of others, and WHEREAS, opportunities to restrain from such violent acts and perform such acts of kindness here in the Town of Tiburon are as unlimited as one's imagination, and [ WHEREAS, settling arguments in a nonviolent manner; treating classmates with respect; treating adult supervisors with respect; lending a helping hand to someone in need are examples of simple, and conscious actions which contribute to an overall generosity of spirit in the Town of Tiburon, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Tiburon that December 8, 1995 be declared "Enough is Enough Day". PASSED AND ADOPTED at an adjourned meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tiburon on December 5, 1994 by the following vote: .
