RESOLUTION NO. 3047
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TIBURON PROCLAIMING COAS1WEEKS FROM
SEPTEMBER 17 THRU OCTOBER 10, 1994 AND
"ADOPT-A-BEACH" COASTAL CLEANUP DAY SEPTEMBER 17.1994
WHEREAS, the State of California has a varied coastline of sandy
beaches, rocky shores, productive estuaries, marshes and tidal Oats, urban
areas and harbors, and
WHEREAS, the coast and Bay shoreline provide a rich scenic,
recreational, cultural, natural and historical heritage, and
WHEREAS, the natural resources of the coastal zone are among
California's most important environmental and economic resources, and
WHEREAS, the marine environment is one of the most valuable
resources for recreation, tourism, fishing and other water-related industries,
and

WHEREAS, the Town of Tiburon is strongly committed to the wise
management of the coastline to ensure that the environmental and economic
value of the coastal zone will be sustained, and
WHEREAS, preserving the productivity and quality of coastal
resources requires public awareness and support and an understanding that
protection of the coast is a responsibility shared by individual citizens, the
business community and public institutions, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the
Town of Tiburon, in conjunction with the California Coastal Commission and
Tiburon's Parks & Open Space Commission does hereby proclaim the weeks
of September 17 through October 10 as COAS1WEEKS and September 17,
1994 as "ADOPT-A-BEACH" COASTAL CLEANUP DAY in the Town of
Tiburon.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that individual citizens, children,
businesses, groups and public institutions are encouraged to observe this
event and to participate in the Coastal Cleanup from 9 A.M. to 12 Noon on
Saturday, September 17, from Blackie's Pasture to San Rafael Avenue.
