RESOLUTION NO. 3024
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF TIBURON TERMINATING THE SOLID WASTE MEMORANDUM
OF UNDERSTANDING AND DESIGNATING THE MARIN COUN1Y
SOLID AND HAZARDOUS WASTE JOINT POWERS
AUTHORI'IY AS THE AB939 LOCAL TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, The Town of Tiburon entered into a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) dated July 3, 1990 between the County of Marin and
the cities of Belvedere, Larkspur, Mill Valley, Novato, San Rafael and
SausaIito, and the Town of Corte Madera, Fairfax, Ross, San Anselmo and
Tiburon; and
WHEREAS, with the adoption of the Marin County Solid and
Hazardous Waste Joint Powers Authority, the parties to the MOU desire to
terminate this Memorandum of Understanding, as provided for in Section'
thereof; and

WHEREAS, according to the Public Resources Code, a Local Task
Force must be appointed by the county and cities to assist in coordinating the
development of AB939 planning and implementation, a responsibility that was
incorporated in the former Hazardous & Solid Waste MOU; and
WHEREAS, the Marin County Solid and Hazardous Waste Joint
Powers Authority (MCS&HWJPA) Board of Directors, comprised of
representatives of the cities, the county and atTected special districts is
interested in also serving as the Local Task Force.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Tiburon
does hereby withdraw from the aforesaid Memorandum of Understanding and
appoints the MCS&HWJPA Board of Directors as the Local Task Force for
AB939 planning, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that authority is delegated to said
Board of Directors to appoint up to seven (7) additional members who
represent the solid waste industry, environmental organizations and the
general public to the Task Force to act in an advisory capacity.

of the Town of Tiburon on May 18, 1994, by the following vote:

Thompson, Wolf, Nygren
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
