Updated Town Council Committee Appointments List
DIGEST /a
Attached for your reference is the updated list of committee appointments adopted at the
January 21, 2015 Town Council meeting.
Two additional changes not reflected on the Matrix worksheet are:
1. Marin BERST (Green Building Energy Retrofit and Solar Transformation
Collaborative) has sunsetted and has been removed from the list;
2. Town Engineer Barnes has replaced Nick Nguyen on the MarinMap Steering
Committee.
An additional bit of information that has come to light since the Council meeting: The
Water Emergency Transit Authority has informed us that there is no longer a Citizen Advisory
Committee to the Board. The Board of Directors is comprised of five members, serving six-year
terms. Members are appointed as follows: three (3) members appointed by the Governor, one
(1) member appointed by the Senate Committee on Rules, and one (1) member appointed by
the Assembly Committee on Rules.
Tiburon does not have a seat on the Board, and since the advisory committee has
sunsetted, there is no need for the Council to take further action at this time. Therefore, this
committee assignment will also be removed from the list of Council appointments.
Please let me know if any additional corrections or clarifications are needed.
Thank you.

awareness of heritage and arts education; to laud exceptional commitment,
contributions, and projects.
We plan to issue the award at a town council ceremony in May.
I wanted to reach out to see whether you have any suggestions here with regards to
interest from town council for this award. We are looking forward to getting nominations
in the next month.

RE: 110 Gilmartin
Tiburon, CA. 94920
January 24, 2015
Dear Mr. Schoolroy:
During the long construction project at the above address, our property has sustained
damage from grading, compacting, heavy equipment, and soil erosion as you have
been previously made aware.
On September 22, 2014, we requested Whiteside Management and Thompson Brooks
Construction to kindly forward the names of insurance carriers responsible for this
project. To date, we have not heard from you or Thompson Brooks Construction. We
were informed that Financial Pacific Insurance Company was the carrier, however, they
have informed us that the coverage was from April 2013 to April 2014 and they were not
the sole carriers. In addition, they informed us by letter dated January 16, 2014 that they
denied this claim for property damage. They suggested that we request a review by the
California Department of Insurance.
Prior to referring this matter as recommended, we are simply requesting your
assistance in providing to us the names of the insurance carriers enlisted by your firm
for the duration of this project.
Sincerely yours,
N" t &xrVAID

TOWN OF TISURON
I am writing to you to respectfully voice my concern as a resident of Tiburon. Based on
the information we have gathered, it seems that the position the Town of Tiburon is
taking against the Peterson Family is punitive and harms the very residents that
provide significant financial support for our community. The home they have built is a
highly customized, signature property that will add value in many ways, including
providing substantial fees and tax revenue. Seeking to extract every dollar of fee
possible given the scope and investment they have made in Tiburon seems draconian.
Mr. & Mrs. Peterson are kind and giving people that have had the good fortune that
comes from hard work. For context, the Town of Ross went down the "Town vs.
Residents" path for over a two decades, apparently seeking to find ways to penalize
residents for simply investing in their community and improving their quality of life. As
a former Ross resident we can attest such adversarial relationships do not foster trust
and forces residents into dysfunctional relationships with municipalities whose sole
purpose is to serve and provide residents with core services and municipal
infrastructure. Furthermore it increases the cost of doing business, which further
hinders investment in Tiburon.
We recommend that the council review this situation carefully. Mr. & Mrs. Petersen are
far more valuable to Tiburon as ambassadors, friends and champions of our amazing
community than people with a bitter story to tell over punitive regulations.
Sincerely,
Monica and David Pauli

Hello All,
As you may know, the Marin County Civic Center, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, is both a National and State Historic
Landmark. Our County Administrator's office has been coordinating with the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy in
Chicago regarding the County's participation in the upcoming nomination of a group of ten outstanding Frank Lloyd
Wright buildings to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage List.
The Marin County Civic Center is one of those ten buildings. The nomination was prepared in consultation with the
National Park Service's Office of International Affairs, the principal technical agency for the U.S. Government's
participation in the program. Attached are some prior press releases that may provide additional background.
We wanted to give you notice that we expect that the Department of Interior will soon announce the formal submission
of the nomination, perhaps as early as the week of January 26, and representatives of the Department may be
contacting certain local and national officials to inform of this impending formal announcement. Further details will be
available at the time of the Department's announcement.
Will you please ensure your Mayors and/or Councils are aware as you deem appropriate? I am also working through our
federal and state lobbyists to share the same message with our federal and state delegation.
Feel free to contact our office should you have any questions. David Speer, the County's Facilities Planning &
Development Manager, is available at 415-473-6016 or at dspeert@marincountv.ore.
