RESOLUTION NO. 04-2024
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TIBURON CELEBRATING
CAROL FELTON & HER DEDICATION TO HARVEY’S GARDEN
WHEREAS, on behalf of the residents of Tiburon, the Town Council of the Town of Tiburon hereby
acknowledges the extraordinary dedication of Carol Felton for the planning and upkeep of Harvey’s
Garden at Blackie’s Pasture over the past 15 years; and
WHEREAS, Harvey’s Garden, formerly known as Blackie’s Pasture Garden, was first planted in March
1995, with support from the Tiburon Peninsula Foundation Garden and UC Marin Master Gardeners; and
WHEREAS, Carol Felton, along with Harvey Rogers, contributed vision and expertise, to create an
aesthetic, delightful, pesticide-free garden of drought-tolerant and colorful plants and flowers to serve as a
delight and an example of climate-friendly, drought-tolerant gardening; and
WHEREAS, Carol’s dedication during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic year, when volunteers
were few, sustained the garden that continued to provide solace and respite to our community during a
time of uncertainty and isolation; and
WHEREAS, Carol continues to demonstrate exceptional leadership and expertise in her current role as
co-chair with James Campbell, organizing and directing the citizen and master gardener volunteers who
help maintain the garden; and
WHEREAS, Carol’s expertise in selecting, transporting, and installing the new native and pollinator-
supportive plantings during the garden renewal will ensure that Harvey’s Garden continues to thrive for
years to come.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Town of Tiburon celebrates Carol Felton’s remarkable 15
years of service with appreciation from the community for her vision and dedication to Harvey’s Garden
in Blackie’s Pasture.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of April, 2024, by the following vote:
