RESOLUTION NO. 31-2024
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TIBURON ACCEPTING A
GRANT FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY FOR THE
PURPOSE OF IMPLEMENTING VARIOUS TRAFFIC SAFETY INITIATIVES AIMED AT
REDUCING TRAFFIC-RELATED INJURIES AND FATALITIES
WHEREAS, the Town of Tiburon has been notified by the State of California Office of Traffic Safety it has
been preliminarily awarded $60,000 in funding from the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP);
and
WHEREAS, the grant will provide funding for the implementation of various traffic safety initiatives aimed
at reducing traffic-related injuries and fatalities, including law enforcement programs, traffic safety
education and outreach, traffic safety equipment and community-based safety initiatives and special traffic
safety projects; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council wishes to accept the grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Town Council hereby accepts the Selective Traffic
Enforcement Program (STEP) grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety in the amount of $60,000,
approves the grant agreement, subject to final approval by the Town Attorney, authorizes the Town Manager
to execute the agreement, and designates Police Captain Jarrod Yee as the Grant Director.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council this 4th day of September, 2024, by
the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Fredericks, Nikfar, Ryan, Thier, Welner
NAYS: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
