HERITAGE & ARTS COMMISSION DECEMBER 13, 2022
TENTATIVE MINUTES Consistent with Executive Orders No. N-25-20 and N-29-20 from the Executive Department of the State of California and the County Public Health Department’s May 18, 2020, Shelter-in-Place Order, commission members attended this meeting by teleconference. Members of the public were invited to participate in the
meeting by live streaming the meeting on the Town’s website and submitting comments to
comments@townoftiburon.org to be included in the public record for the meeting. MEETING – 5:30 P.M.
Chair Etemad called the meeting of the Heritage & Arts Commission to order at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday,
December 13, 2022. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: COMMISSION MEMBERS: Etemad, Ferrin, Fong, Gupta
ABSENT: COMMISSION MEMBERS: Hall, Mujica Beavers, Noguez PRESENT: EX OFFICIO: Liaison to H&A Commission – Patti Pickett
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS None Representatives from the Green Team Tiburon presented their interest and background information for a project to “wrap” various utility boxes along Tiburon Blvd. with artistic designs along the line of what has
been done in other Marin jurisdictions, most notably Mill Valley.
The Green Team and their ideas will be brought back at a future meeting for discussion. ACTION ITEMS
1. AI-1 Receive report on marketing and fund-raising proposals pertaining to the Thomas Jackson public art
installation and consider approval of specified marketing materials and cost, not to exceed $500. Motion: To approve the StArt card with minor changes as noted, the poster and the donor card with changes
as noted and to approve costs for same not to exceed $500.00. Moved: Fong 2nd: Ferrin

2. AI-2 Review and consider approval of web content for Thomas Jackson information page and the donation form.
This content will reside on the Heritage & Arts web page, found on the Town of Tiburon website.
Motion 1: To approve the Thomas Jackson project donation flyer with changes for the Holiday Fest, Dec. 3,
2022

Motion 2: To approve current web content with changes forward allowing for any flexibility needed to fit the Town of Tiburon web content requirements. Moved: Ferrin

3. AI-3 Consider approval of a provisional date for Thomas Jackson print raffle.
Motion: To move discussion to next H&A Meeting Dec. 13 with an approximate raffle date of May 2023.

4. AI-4 Consider approval of other StArt pin card distribution methods.
Public Comment: Victoria Miller: discussion was had concerning the price being charged for the pins.
Commissioner Gupta explained how the $20 price point was arrived at and the reasons supporting it.
Motion 1: To allow H&A Commissioners to sell StArt pins directly to the public at Landmarks concert
December 4.

Motion 2: To allow H&A Commissioners and PASP Members to sell and distribute StArt pins directly to
the public with restrictions on representation as discussed.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
1. December 3: Table location at the Holiday fest and shift delegation.
The location will be in front of the Chamber of Commerce Welcome center – “The Depot”.
2. Delegate role for help with web page design.
Commission Gupta will work with Liaison Pickett and Town Clerk, Lea Dilena on web page design.
3. Discuss avenues for donor outreach.
Grant requests and public receptions with “Meet the Artist” were discussed.
