HERITAGE & ARTS COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING – AUGUST 24, 2021
DRAFT MINUTES
Consistent with Executive Orders No. N-25-20 and N-29-20 from the Executive Department of the State of California and the County Public Health Department’s May 18, 2020 Shelter-in-Place Order, commission members attended this meeting by teleconference. Members of the public were invited to
participate in the meeting by live streaming the meeting on the Town’s website and submitting
comments to comments@townoftiburon.org to be included in the public record for the meeting. MEETING – 5:30 P.M.
Chair Noguez called the special meeting of the Tiburon Town Council to order at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday,
August 24, 2021. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: COMMISSION MEMBERS: Noguez, Etemad, Ferrin, Fong, Lee, Hall, Mujica-Beavers
PRESENT: EX OFFICIO: Liaison to H&A Commission – Patti Pickett ORAL COMMUNICATIONS

AI-4 Receive report on FY21-22 H&A Budget. Discuss and consider approval of a request to
Town Council for special funding for the Historical Walking Tour brochure reprint. Consider
approval to include Old Rail Trail “insert” in request.
No action taken. AI-5 Discuss and consider approval to send the completed Old Rail Trail mural project as
approved by H&A to POST (Parks, Open Space & Trails Commission) for consideration and
input.

AI-6 Receive proposal of Jean Pierre Rives sculpture gift to the Town of Tiburon. Consider
approval to send on to POST and/or Town Council for consideration and approval.
MOTION - To recommend acceptance of the Jean Pierre Rives proposal as a gift to the Town of
Tiburon with no specific site and send to the Town Council for approval. Moved – Fong, seconded by Mujica-Beavers
All in favor - Aye DISCUSSION ITEMS DI-1 H&A Chair Report – DI-2 Artist Laureate Chair Report – DI-3 Public Art Community Input Survey – Update on current results. Review changes as
discussed at last meeting and approve. Discuss and approve alternate locations for survey banner, any
other avenues for survey distribution, and duration of survey. DI-5 Calendar Dates:
September 9 (Thursday) or September 13 (Monday) – Joint meeting of PASP & H&A (Zoom?)
September 13 – Monday – PASP Special Meeting confirmed
September 20 (September 14 N/A) – 5:30PM - Public Art Selection Panel Regular Meeting
September 20 – Monday – H&A Special Meeting confirmed
September 28 – 5:30PM - Heritage & Arts Commission Regular Meeting

ADJOURNMENT - There being no further business before the H&A Commission, Chair Noguez adjourned the meeting at
7:21 p.m.
