RESOLUTION NO. 3303
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF TIBURON
COMMEMORATING THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF
GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE DISTRICT
GENERAL MANAGER CARNEY J. CAMPION
UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Tiburon has learned from the Board
of Directon of the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District of the
retirement of General Manager Carney J. Campion on November 30, 1998;
WHEREAS, during his tenure of public service, Mr. Campion has contributed his
leadenhip and commitment to excellence in public transportation in the San Francisco Bay
Area; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Campion has been instrumental in advancing numerous projects
aimed at improving the transportation infrastructure for Marin County for the future:
1)
Purchase and preservation of the abandoned Northwestern Pacific Railroad
right-of-way from Novato to Willits;

2) Purchase of a new high-speed catamaran placed in Larkspur ferry service on
September 8, 1998;
3) Deployment of new capacity 57-passenger coaches from Sonoma County;
4) Attainment of full compliance with ADA mandates, the first public transit
system in the Bay Area to do so;
WHEREAS, the above projects represent only a few of Mr. Campion's
accomplishments during his yean of service;
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Tiburon desires to give public
recognition to Carney J. Campion upon his retirement;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of
Tiburon hereby conveys its sincere appreciation to Mr. Campion for his dedicated service
and close cooperation in working with the Town of Tiburon and to the welfare of the
people of Marin County.

PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Tiburon Town Council on
October 7, 1998, by the following vote:
