RESOLUTION NO. 3148 - A
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TIBURON COMMENDING
ROBIN SWEENY
FOR HER MANY CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
POLITICAL LIFE AND BETTERMENT OF MARIN COUNTY
WHEREAS, Robin Sweeny has been a member ofthe Sausalito City Council for 28
years, serving four times as Mayor, and
WHEREAS, Robin Sweeny began her political career with the slogan "SAVE OUR
SHORES" and has maintained a high level of awareness on all water-oriented issues
throughout her many terms on the city Council, and
WHEREAS, Robin Sweeny has been a member of the Richardson Bay Regional
Agency since its inception, and
WHEREAS, Robin Sweeny was instrumental in the development of Dunphy Park, a
park of nearly ten acres in Sausalito, including underwater and waterfront lands, and
WHEREAS, Robin Sweeny helped make the possible the move of old Sausalito City
Hall to its present location, and
WHEREAS, Robin Sweeny, as a member of the Board of Directors of Rotary
Housing, helped develop affordable senior rentals in Sausalito,
NOW, TIIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of
Tiburon does hereby join with the other cities of Marin County in celebration and grateful
appreciation of Robin Sweeny's many contributions over three decades of public service.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of
Tiburon on March 20, 1996, by the following vote:
