RESOLUTION NO. 23-2001
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF TmURON
ASSURING COMPLIANCE WITH ALL CONDmONS
AND REQUIREMENTS OF THE CALIFORNIA STATE COASTAL CONSERVANCY
ASSOCIATED WITH THE ALLOCATION OF
BAY TRAIL GRANT FUNDS FOR
TmURON'S PINE TERACE PAm IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
WHEREAS, in March 2000 the California voters approved a parks and open space bond
measure (proposition 12) and $7.5 million of the bond has been designated for use by the State
Coastal Conservancy for development ofthe Bay Trail; and
WHEREAS, the Coastal Conservancy has announced a competitive grant program
administered by the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) Bay Trail Project which
encourages the construction or improvement of trails shown in the San Francisco Bay Trail Plan;
and
WHEREAS, the existing Pine Terrace path is a Class I (separated) connector trail to the
existing Bay Trail (Tiburon Multi-Use Path) and the proposed project will improve the existing
connection by providing a more direct path for school children, cyclists, and residents, and will
,-.. bring the path into compliance with ADA; and
WHEREAS, the total estimated cost of the Pine Terrace Path Improvements is $77,000
which consists of$61,600 in grant funds and $15,400 in local funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town ofTiburon approves the
submittal ofa grant application and will commit in its Fiscal Year 2001-2002 budget the required
local funding as set forth by the California State Coastal Conservancy grant allocation
requirements; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town of Tiburon will accept the grant, if
awarded; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor or his designee is hereby authorized to
execute the grant contract and related documents; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town's authorized representative for this project
is the Director of Public Works/Town Engineer, whose office is located at the Tiburon Town
Hall, 1505 Tiburon Boulevard, Tiburon, CA 94920, telephone number (415) 435-7388.
