I asked her to apply for a permit because I saw her tents out there one day and wondered what they were. She said she did a weekly bike clinic to teach bike safety to kids. She said former Police Capt. Hutton had given her permission to stage there. A bit more background — Kathy McLeod was part of the Bike Train (and one of its leaders) that the Town funded a few years back. The bicycle safety training is sort of an outgrowth of this, perhaps, and may even have been considered (by Hutton) to be under its auspices. You might just pass this on to Alice or whomever was asking. But I'm not sure how the Town wants to address it — it's not a Special Event per se — since it is weekly, and ongoing. I'll keep looking for the permit app but it's really not a Special Event, like I said. We could ask her to do a new one, for a new location, if you like. FYI, the insurance certificate is for April through October 2015. So she'll need a new one for the ongoing classes, in a new location. Let me know if you have any questions.
