RESOLUTION NO. 20-2007
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF TIBURON
PROCLAIMING MAY 5, 2007 AS PETER BERG KITE DAY
IN THE TOWN OF TIBURON
WHEREAS, Peter Berg served as Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Commission in
the 1970's during the development of McKegney Green and Richardson Bay Lineal Park; and
WHEREAS, Peter Berg was one of the "founding fathers" of the Belvedere/Tiburon Joint
Recreation Committee, and became a leader in the development of facilities such as the Del Mar
Tennis Courts, the Community Garden, the Wayne Snow Mini-Park, China Cabin, the Railroad
Ferry Depot Museum, and community activities such as Ayala Day and Kite Day;
WHEREAS, Peter Berg is known for his creativity in the design and building of all kinds
of kites; and
WHEREAS, the first "Kite Day" took place in 1973, and became an annual or biannual
event thereafter for more than 30 years; an event that was fun for the entire family and brought
people together in a sense of community and enjoyment of Tiburon's parks and open spaces;
WHEREAS, the citizens of the Town of Tiburon have greatly benefited from Peter's
dedication and service in the past and will continue to enjoy the fruits of his labor for many years
to come;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the citizens of the Town of Tiburon are
invited to participate in another Kite Day on May 5,2007 at South of the Knoll Park;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Tiburon Town Council hereby proclaims
Saturday, May 5, 2007 as Peter Berg Kite Day in the Town of Tiburon.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of
Tiburon held on May 2, 2007, by the following vote:
