OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TIBURON COMMENDING TONY IACOPI FORIS YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE TOWN WHEREAS, in 1989, the Town of Tiburon hired Tony lacopi as Assistant . Superintendent of Public Works to work with former Superintendent of Public Works Lou Brunini and to follow in his footsteps upon his retirement; and WHEREAS, Tony was trained by Lou in the Tiburon "ways,", and along with Tony's previous 12 years of experience working for the Reed Ulion School District, no street, storm drain, pothole, or median strip was left uncovered by this venerable team; WHEREAS, upon Lou's retirement, Tony assumed the Superiltendent's position and went on to build a solid team of employees that has kept the Town's infrastructure, including the Town Hall, Police and Library buildings, Corporation Yard, parks, sidewalks and streets, in good repair; and WHEREAS, Tony's many talents as a carpenter, welder, plumber, builder, wrangler, and jack of all trades can be seen all around Town in contributions like the trellises that grace Zelinsky Park, the reconstructed Little Lady Gazebo at McKegneyGreen, the design and construction of Blackie's pedestal in the Town Hall Lobby, the ferry plaza and Paradise Drive traffic circle, the reconfiguration of Town Hall offices to accommodate a larger staff, and innumerable other structures; and WHEREAS, Tony's pride ofownership in his work, his problem-solving abilities and professionalism have earned him the respect and admiration of the many contractors and tradesmen and women who have been awarded public works' projects in the Town; and his work ethic, ability and willingness to respond day or night in emergencies and to work with other public agency personnel throughout the Tiburon peninsula has been invaluable to the Town's well-being; and WHEREAS, while Tony is leaving to pursue new goals in his retirement, his legacy of accomplishments, strength, team spirit and hard work will remain with us. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Tiburon does hereby commend Tony lacopi for his outstanding level of public service to Tiburon and extends its sincere best wishes for all success in his life.
