HomeMy WebLinkAboutTC Min 2006-07-19 TOWN COUNCIL MINUTES CALL TO ORDER Mayor Smith called the regular meeting of the Tiburon Town Council to order at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 , in Town Council Chambers, 1505 Tiburon Boulevard, Tiburon, California. ROLLCALL PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Berger, Fredericks, Gram, Slavitz, Smith PRESENT: EX OFFICIO: Interim Town Manager Bigall, Director of Community Development Anderson, Director of Public Works/Town Engineer Nguyen, Chief of Police Odetto, Interim Director of Administrative Services Stott, Town Clerk Crane Iacopi Prior to the regular meeting, beginning at 6:30 p.m., Council met in closed session to discuss the following: CLOSED SESSION APPOINTMENT OF EMPLOYEE (Section 54957(b )(1) Title: Town Manager ANNOUNCEMENT OF ACTION TAKEN IN CLOSED SESSION" IF ANY Mayor Smith said that no final action was taken and that the Council would reconvene in closed session at the end of the regular meeting. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Anita Rocha, resident of Corinthian Court, thanked Public Works Director Nguyen for his quick response and that of his department in clearing some weeds in the right-of-way. She then mentioned to Council that there was a movement afoot to make changes to the median strip at the entrance to of the neighborhood at Red Hill Circle and Lyford Drive. She said that there was a plan called "Have Pride in Red Hill Circle" which envisioned removal of the bottlebrush trees and the installation of a granite sign denoting "Red Hill Circle." She said that the proponents also wanted to plant flowers on the median which she said was not feasible due to the lack of irrigation in that location. Ms. Rocha said that she was opposed to the plan because it would have a negative impact on the privacy of the neighborhood by drawing attention to it. Approval of Town Council Minutes - July 6,2006 Councilmember Fredericks submitted some changes into the record. 2. Recommendation by Director of Public Works/Town Engineer - Authorize budget amendment for additional equipment (swing set) at South Knoll Playground 3. Recommendation by Director of Public Works/Town Engineer - Accept as Complete South Knoll "Tot Lot" Renovation Project a) A Resolution of the Town Council of the Town of Tiburon Accepting the South of Knoll Park Tot Lot Renovation Project And Authorizing of the Filing of the Notice of Completion For the Work 4. Recommendation by Planning Manager - Denial of Appeal of Planning Commission Approval of Conditional Use Permit for Temporary Canstruction Staging Area in Lyford Cove for Utility Undergrounding Assessment District Project Appellants: Davis, Houghton, Wear, Diaz, Wenger Address: 2240 Centro East Assessor Parcel No. 059-142-02 a) MOTION: Moved: Vote: A Resolution of the Town Council of the Town of Tiburon Memorializing the Denial of An Appeal by Dolores Davis, David Houghton, Steven and Lisa Wear, Milton Diaz Perez and Jayne Wenger of the Approval of a Conditional Use Permit and Imposing Additional Conditions of Approval on the Permit to Operate A Temporary Construction Staging Area on a Currently Vacant Lot At 2240 Centro East Street To adopt Consent Calendar, as amended.
