HomeMy WebLinkAboutTC Res 1990-09-19 RESOLUTION NO. 2740 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TIBURON AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF RECORDS WHEREAS, Government Code Section 34090 authorizes the destruction of certain Town records, subject to certain limitations and subject to the approval of the Town Council by resolution and to the written consent of the Town Attorney; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Town to authorize the destruction of certain records in accordance with law; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That the Town Manager be authorized to destroy the following records of the Town for FY 1979-80 through 1984-85: a. Paid Warrants b. Paid checks c. Paid vouchers d. Accounts payable statements and invoices e. Vendor's files f. Town Clerk's receipts for cash g. Town Clerk's deposit receipts h. Town Clerk's business licenses i. Town Clerk's business license cash receipts j. Tapes of all meetings whose minutes have been approved. k. Payroll journals and payroll-related expense statements. 2. That notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding Paragraph 1, no records which consist of any of the following shall be destroyed: a. Records affecting the title to real property or liens thereon b. Court records c. All records required to be kept by statute d. Records less than two years old e. Minutes, ordinances or resolutions of the Town Council or any of its Commissions or Boards f. Records of historic value g. General ledgers h. Planning Department case files i. Personnel records j. Engineering records k. Town Council case files PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tiburon on September 19, 1990 by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Friedman, Coxhead, Kuhn, Thayer NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Logan ATTEST:
