RESOLUTION NO. 2773
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF
THE TOWN OF TIBURON PROCLAIMING
APRIL 7 - 13 AND APRIL 17, 1991
AS MEDIATION WEEK
WHEREAS, our society has become increasingly troubled and litigious in
recent times and this has lead to domestic, commercial and social disharmony and
an increased need for expensive law enforcement and judicial agencies, and
WHEREAS, in an effort to ameliorate these conditions, restore harmony,
improve relations among community residents and families and the judicial system,
many of the residents of our Town have turned to dispute resolution services with
resultant social and economic benefits, and
WHEREAS, Marin Mediation Services has many citizens trained as mediators
to provide ready assistance to those in need of services, and
WHEREAS, these individuals and Marin Mediation Services have assisted the
TO\ffi with their expertise and are instrumental in resolving Town disputes, especially
those involving the tree ordinance,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town
of Tiburon hereby proclaims the week of April 7 - 13, 1991 and the day of April 17,
1991 as Mediation Week to express sincere appreciation to Marin Mediation
Services and those individuals who are working diligently to assist Tiburon residents
and businesses in the resolution of conflict and settlement of disputes.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Tiburon on March 20, 1991, by the following vote:
