RESOLUTION NO. 2770
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TIBURON EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
DENNIS ROCKEY
FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE TIBURON COMMUNI1Y
WHEREAS, DENNIS ROCKEY has been a member of the Tiburon
community and an active participant in Tiburon's local government activities since
1974, and
WHEREAS, he became a soccer coach for the Tiburon Peninsula Soccer
League and led his team to the Championships, and was then appointed to the
Parks & Recreation Commission in 1975, and to the Town Council in 1978, and
WHEREAS, in 1980 DENNIS ROCKEY was elected to the Town Council and
served as Mayor of Tiburon in 1982, and
WHEREAS, as an advocate of affordable housing he spearheaded the
conversion of the Tiburon School into senior citizen housing in 1980, served on the
Town's Housing Committee, and the Ecumenical Association for Housing Board of
Directors at The Hilarita, and
WHEREAS, CARO L ANN ROCKEY always participated and remembered the
Tiburon Town Staff by donating a turkey for their Christmas party,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council on behalf
of all officials, Staff and residents of the Town of Tiburon does hereby extend its
best wishes to DENNIS AND CAROL ANN ROCKEY on the occasion of their move
to the City of Hong Kong and expresses the heartfelt gratitude and appreciation of
the community to DENNIS for his selfless, outstanding and devoted public service
to Tiburon.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Tiburon on March 20. 1991 by the following vote:
