HomeMy WebLinkAboutTC Min 1990-05-07 TOWN COUNCIL MINUTES CALL TO ORDER Mayor Logan called the adjourned meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Tiburon to order at 7:40 P.M., Monday, May 7, 1990 in Room 5, Del Mar School, Tiburon, California. A. ROLL CALL PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: Friedman, Coxhead, Thayer, Kuhn, Logan ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None EX OFFICIO: Town Manager Kleinert B. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 1. INTERVIEW CANDIDATES FOR COMMISSIONS/BOARDS & COMMITTEES The Town Council interviewed eight (8) candidates for Commissions/Boards and Committees. The Mayor advised each candidate that the interviews would continue to next week and the Town Council would probably make appointments at their regular meeting of May 16. Each candidate would be advised accordingly and as there are more candidates than vacant positions those not appointed would be considered for future openings. C. NEW BUSINESS 2. REDWOO D HIGH SCHOOL GRAD NITE '90 (Consider Funding Assistance) The Town Manager outlined the request from the Redwood High School Parents Organization for financial assistance in sponsoring Redwood High School's Grad Nite '90 which focuses on a drug and alcohol free all night graduation party. The Town Manager supported the request as it differed from prior years in that it was a combined request to both the Town and City of Belvedere for a total of $500 and the organizers and students would provided a shoreline clean-up in both cities within the next few weeks. APPOINTMENTS TO COMMISSIONS, BOARDS, COMMITTEES Discussion ensued by the Council members regarding the various candidates and the Commission and Board vacancies. Mayor Logan recommended that the interviews be continued until Monday, May 14, for the purpose of interviewing the final applicants and they hopefully will make the formal appointments at the regular meeting of May 16. E. COUNCIL, COMMISSION OR COMMITTEE REPORTS There were none. F. COMMUNICATIONS There were none. G. STAFF AND TOWN MANAGER REPORTS The Town Manager discussed potential dates for the proposed recognition party for the former Councilmembers and for the Town Council/Department Head Retreat. H. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business before the Town Council of the Town of Tiburon, Mayor Logan adjourned the meeting at 10:15 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Monday, May 14, 1990 to continue the interviews.
