RESOLUTION NO. 2809
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF TIBURON EXPRESSING APPRECIATION
TO THE TIBURON FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR GOLDEN JUBILEE
WHEREAS, the Tiburon Fire Protection District was established July 1, 1941, and
staffed by volunteers, and
WHEREAS, the first career Fire Chief Franklin Buscher was hired in December
1959, and is currently the longest tenured Fire Chief in the State of California, and
WHEREAS, the first fire fighter was hired in August 1960, and the City of Belvedere
joined the Tiburon Fire Protection District in 1980, and
WHEREAS, the Tiburon Fire Protection District is a full service Fire Department
providing fire protection, fire prevention services, public education services and emergency
medical care, and consists of twenty uniformed fire personnel and seventeen volunteers,
WHEREAS, the Tiburon Fire Protection District is recognized for its leadership in
promoting fire prevention, life and bum safety education and requires fire safety
improvements in all new construction,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council on behalf of all
Town officials, Staff and residents of the Town of Tiburon extend best wishes to the Tiburon
Fire District on the occasion of their Golden Jubilee, and express their heartfelt gratitude
and appreciation to the Staff and Volunteers of the Tiburon Fire District for fifty years of
outstanding and dedicated public service to the Tiburon community.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of
Tiburon on September 17, 1991, by the following vote:
