Acknowledgment of Receipt of Bequest
Dear Mr. Kuhns:
Enclosed is the signed Receipt of Bequest form, as executed by Alex D. McIntyre, Town Manager. We
are of course very appreciative of Mr. Martin's bequest. We have deposited the bequest monies to the
Town's Park Development Reserve Fund so that we may account for them separately and apart from
general operating monies.
We look forward to working with representatives of Mr. Martin's Estate to expend these funds in a
. manner that is both appropriate and acceptable to the Estate.

Enclosed is a check in the amount of$10,000.00 as your distribution from the Estate of
Solomon M. Martin. Please sign the enclosed Receipt of Bequest form and return it to
Mr. William Kuhns in the envelope provided.
The bequest is "for the purchase of a substantial bench to be situated along the Tiburon
bike path, together with a designation as being a " Gift of Sylvia Martin. "" Mr Martin
has directed me as executor to cooperate with the Town's representatives in the planning
and location of this gift. Attached is a copy of my letter to Mr. Bob Kleinert concerning
the possibility of applying these funds toward the construction of a path from Tiburon
Boulevard to McKegney Green with a bench and naming the path in honor of the
Martins' .
I have submitted a form of lease to the Pine Terrace property owners in order to make
this property available for such a path. I hope to finalize the lease shortly after the end of
the year.

Dear Bob,
As you are aware, Solomon M. Martin bequest to the Town of Tiburon the sum of
$10,000 "for the purchase of a substantial bench to be situated along the Tiburon bike
path, together with a designation as being a "Gift of Sylvia Martin."" He has directed
me as a Co-executor to cooperate with the Town's representatives in the planning and
location of this gift.
The other Co-executor is Mr. Christopher Mullin; Mr. Mullin who is now living in
Hawaii has declined to serve as Co-executor. Therefore, as executor for Mr. Martin's
estate, I look forward to working with you for the placement of the bench.
Since the amount of the bequest is quite large in comparison with the expected cost of a
bench, I was thinking that in conjunction with possibly extending the path from Tiburon
Boulevard to McKegney Green, if possible, this money might be used to pay for the path
as well as place a bench on that path and dedicate the path and bench to Sylvia Martin. I
will need to determine that this use of the funds is appropriate and acceptable. Further, as
you knoTvV, I \vill need to work with the neighbors to free up that parcel of land for this
purpose.
