I am a 42 year resident of Greenwood Beach Rd. At the east end of our street is an old Eucalyptus tree which has been brutally
trimmed(see attached) by town staff to supposedly protect the view of a party that lives 200+feet away(see attached).
Several years ago I went to the town manager and then some staff person to request that the next time this was considered that
I would be advised. I even met with Councilperson Fredericks at the site to discuss the matter.
I recently inquired re the status of the tree's well being as I noticed that it was finally looking healthy and proper. I now find out
that: 1) no one informed me that any trimming was being proposed and 2)that an encroachment permit—an encroachment
permit?
—has been issued and that I have to wait until the next request to express my concem--at which time I'm sure that I will be
ignored
again.
I hereby request that the new encroachment permit be cancelled until nature is given a chance to speak against totally
inappropriate self interest.
