A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TIBURON
APPROVING THE NON-MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION PILOT PROGRAM
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND TAKING RELATED ACTIONS
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Tiburon does resolve as follows:
Section 1. Findings.
A. The Town of Tiburon is proposing to construct improvements in order to increase the
mode share of bicycling and walking for everyday transportation. The physical
improvements associated with this project would take place at three discontinuous
locations within the Town, specifically at Raccoon Lane, Cayford Drive, and the path and
stairs connecting Jefferson Drive to Reed Ranch Road. The plans include improving
existing paths and steps, as set forth in drawings dated October 15, 2008, prepared by
Harrison Engineering, Inc., (8 sheets), on file and available for public review in the
Tiburon Planning Division offices.
B. The Town Council has held a duly noticed public hearing on June 17, 2009 and heard and
considered all testimony received from interested persons and considered the project
materials before it. The Town Council finds that the project is consistent with the goals,
policies and programs of the Tiburon General Plan and consistent with the Town's zoning
regulations. The Town Council finds that the project would encourage people to walk
and provide improved pedestrian access around Tiburon.
C. The Town Council has by separate resolution adopted a Mitigated Negative Declaration
for the project and a Mitigation Monitoring Program for the project.
Section 2. Approval of Project.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council hereby approves the
Non-motorized Transportation Pilot Program Improvement Project
Section 3. Authorization to Solicit Bids.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Manager is authorized to solicit project
bids, subject to final Caltrans design approval.
