RESOLUTION NO. ~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCn. OF THE CITY OF
TIBURON COMMENDING THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE,
HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT DIRECTORS
FOR THEIR RESOLUTION OF THE TIBURON-SAN FRANCISCO
FERRY SERVICE PROBLEM.
WHEREAS: The suspension of the Tiburon-S~n Francisco Ferryboat
S~rvice due to a labor dispute has caused prolonged inconvenience and hardship
to hundreds of co~uters regularly patronizing the system; and,
~:3AS: Suspension also was causing an increasing and extremely
grave economic problem to the merchants of Tiburon whose businesses benefited
from the commerce generated by the ferry services; and,
liHEREAS: It was readily apparent that determined enterprise by a
public agency would be necessary if the distress caused by the suspension were
not to be unendurably prolonged;
!!-::'1, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT this eity eouncil commends the Board of Directors of the Golden
G2te Bridge, Highway and Transportation District, and their staff, for the
determined ~p.nsible and expeditious resolution of the problem, the benefits
of ~]hich are already evident in the patronage the ferry service is receiving.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
C~ty of Tiburon held on
November 24
, 1969, by the following vote:
