CITY OF TIBURON
Resolution No. 65
WHEREAS~ the Tiburon Peninsula has been reappraised by the office of the
Marin County Assessor twice in the last five years with fuJ I recognition
granted to the inflationary trend of land values in this area.
WHEREAS~ local citizens have formed a committee to inform individual property
owners as to the procedural requirements necessary to reduce or correct in-
equities in the appraisal and also to inform the residents as to the manner
in which the local taxing bodies expend the publ ic moneys secured thru
property taxation.
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Marin have forthrightly
recognized the pernicious effects of the rising tax burden on property
owners and have cal led for legislative rei ief from the Legislature of the
State of Cal ifornia.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Counci I of the City of Tiburon
does commend and endorse the CUT Committee in its efforts to encourage wise
and efficient use of the tax dollar.
NOW~ THEREFORE, be it also resolved that the City Counci I of the City of
Tiburon endorses and supports the leadership of the Board of Supervisors in
its efforts to achieve legislative rei ief not only in the areas control ling
the Office of the Assessor but also to emel iorate the trend of the ever-
increasing burden of taxes on property.
