RESOLUTION NO. 105
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TIBURON
PROVIDING THE METHOD OF DRAWING WARRANTS AND CHECKS AND
THE METHOD OF APPROVAL AND PAYMENT OF DEMAND
WHEREAS, Title 4, Division I, Chapter 4 of the Government Code of the State of Cal ifornia
requires and authorizes the City Counci I to make certain provisions respecting the
approval and payment of demands,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
THAT Resolution No. 31 is hereby rescinded;
THAT demands shal I be approved for payment in one of the fa! lowing manners:
A. The City Clerk shal I approve each demand as conforming to the
duly adopted budget for the current fiscal year; or,
B. The City Counci I shal I approve payment of such demands as are
not certified or approved by the City Clerk;
THAT upon certification or approval of a demand in at least one of the forogoing
manners, the City Clerk shal I cause to be prepared a check or checks in payment
of said demand, drawn on the proper fund or funds;
THAT said check or checks shal I be manually signed by either the City Clerk or
City Treasurer, and by eithe, the Mayor or Vice-Mayor, or in the alternative, if
neither the Mayor or Vice-Mayor can perform the duty, then by one other member
of the City Counci I;
PROVIDED that the City Clerk shal I certify al I payrol Is in accordance with approved
budgets and salary schedules after such payrol Is have been submitted as approved by
the heads of departments, and after such approval and certification he shal I cause
to be prepared checks marked "PAYROLL" and sha II sign and de liver same on the
fol lowing schedule:
A. For regular employees, on the last work day of each month, for
the ful I calendar month during which the salary was earned and
for which the payroll is certified;
B. For casual employees or those whose employment is terminated, on
the last day of employment.
AND PROVIDED FURTHER that the City Clerk may not sign any payrol I check which exceeds
$1,500 in face value unless it is countered signed by the Mayor: Vice-Mayor or other
member of the City Counci I as provided for herein.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
That al I audited demands paid in the manner hereinbefore set forth shal I be accumulated
on a register of audited demands, said register to be presented to the City Counci I
for ratification and approval at the first regular meeting after del ivory of the checks.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a meeting of the City Counci I of the City of Tiburon on the
25th day of Apri I, 1966, by the fol lowing vote:
