RESOLUTION NO. 229
A RESOLUTION OF THE TIBURON CITY COUNCIL ESIABLISHING A
: TRUSTEE ACCOUNT FOR THE PUKPOSE OF ACCEPTING PRIVA TE
DONATIONS FOR OPEN SPACE. TRAILS AND PARK PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City oi Tiburon is becoming more densly populated with
each ensuing month; and
WHEREAS, acco~panying this spectacular growth there has been a drain
on open space, trails and park facilities; and
WHEREAS, concerned citizens have requested that the City create a
fund where private donations can be deposited; and
WHEREAS, the success of preserving areas for open space, trails and
park facilities prevails largely in the amount of financial resources the City
/
can acquire.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT the Council of the City of Tiburon does welcome and solicit
public donations, gifts or bequests to stimulate and aid in the acquisition
for public benefit of open spaces, such as but not restricted to parks, trails,
scenic land or water areas, and such other spaces of similar nature as will
further enhance the cultural, recreational and environmental attributes of
the City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
THAT an ordinance and any necessary correlary resolutions establish-
ing a fund system to provide for the aforementioned donations, gifts and be-
quests shall be prepared forthwith and presented to this City Council for
their action.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Tiburon held on
January 13
, 1969, by the following vote:
