RESOLUTION NO.~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TIBURON URGING THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES
AND THE COUNTY SUPERVISORS' ASSOCIATION OF CALI-
FORNIA TO SEEK ACTION TO ALLEVL\TE THE PROBLEM OF
LITTER AND WASTE DISPOSAL CREATED BY THE SALE OF
BEVERAGES IN DISPOSABLE. NON-RETURNABLE CONTAINERS
WHEREAS, the sale of malt, carbonated and non-carbonated beverages in dis-
posable, non-returnable containers is producing an adverse effect upon the en-
vironment which is injurious to the health, safety and welfare of the residents
of Tiburon, and the entire State of California; and
WHEREAS, the problems created by the sale of such beverages in disposable,
non-returnable containers cannot be solved on a local level, but must be dealt
with on at least the State level;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Tiburon
urges the League of California Cities and the County Supervisors' Association of
'California to seek the following actions by the State Legislature to alleviate the
problems of litter and waste disposal created by the sale of such beverages in
disposable, non-returnable containers:
(a) Require a deposit on all containers used for the sale of such
beverages;
(b) Promote, encourage and support research by the beverage and con-
tainer industries in the field of bio-degradable containers;
(c) Develop, encourage and support programs aimed at encouraging
the citizens of the State of California to take a more respon-
sible attitude toward the disposal of such beverage containers,
including recycling; and
(d) Consideration of legislation which would result in the eventual
prohibition of sale and distribution of non-returnable containers.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Tiburon hereby requests all of the
cities and counties in California to take similar action urging the League of
California Cities and the County Supervisors' Association of California to seek
action by the State Legislature which will alleviate the problems of litter and
waste disposal created by the sale of such beverages in disposable, non-returnable
containers.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed to send copies
of this resolution to the League of California Cities, the County Board of Super-
visors, Governor of the State of California, President Pro-Tempore of the Senate
and the Speaker of the Assembly.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TIBURON ACCEPTING THE FINAL SUBDIVISION MAP OF
NORTHHILL
WHEREAS, the final subdivision map for Northhill has been presented to
the City for approval by Lenco Land & Development Co., Inc., owner; and
WHEREAS, the map has been filed with the City Engineer for presentation
to the City Council of the City of Tiburon for its approval, which map is here-
by referred to and incorporated herein; and
WHEREAS, the subdivider has requested approval of the map prior to the
construction and completion of improvements, including drainage facilities
~~hich are a part of or are pertinent to the subdivision designated in the map.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said final map is approved and the
City rejects the offer of dedication of all drainage easements and sewer ease-
ments, ~ the condition that the subdivider first enter into and execute with the
City the agreement attached hereto as amended, and meet the requirements thereof.

Tiburon held on May 10 , 1971, by the following vote:
