HomeMy WebLinkAboutTC Res 1971-02-09 (3) RESOLUTION NO.~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TIBURON DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO GRANT A USE PERMIT TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & RECREATION, ANGEL ISLAND, FOR DOCKING FACILITIES AT THE NORTHWESTERN PACIFIC RAILROAD FERRY SLIP WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of Parks & Recreation, Angel Island State Park, in considering the replacement of their present iO-foot supply boat with a 6S-foot U. S. Army transportation boat, would require utilization of larger, more accessible, docking facilities, such as the Northwestern Pacific Railroad's ferry slip, rather than the wooden float facility presently being utilized in Tiburon Harbor; and WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks & Recreation, Angel Island, communicated with the City of Tiburon on December 28, 1970, requesting approval ~or use of the Northwestern Pacific Railroad's ferry slip prior to soliciting approval from the Northwestern Pacific Railroad for the docking facility; and WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks & Recreation, Angel Island, has indicated the proposed use of the Northwestern Pacific Railroad ferry slip docking facility and should be considered an interim or temporary solution, as they are continuing to search for a permanent land base location in the southern Marin area; and WHEREAS, the primary function of the boat used by the Angel Island State Park employees is for the transporting of dependentS and supplies to and from Angel Island; and WHEREAS, the Northwestern Pacific Railroad Company has requested the City of Tiburon's consideration of this matter prior to the Railroad's processing of the Angel Island State Park application; NOW, THEREFORE, 8E IT RESOLVED, that the City council of the City of Tiburon doeS hereby declare its intention to grant to the State of California, Department of Parks & Recreation, Angel Island State Park, a use permit for docking facilities at the Northwestern Pacific Railroad's ferry slip; and 8E IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that issuance of such a permit would be subject to the following conditions pursuant to Section 22 of the Tiburon Zoning Ordinance: (1) Revocable at the will of the City. (2) No permanent improvements being constructed. (3) Final plans to be approved by the City of Tiburon.
