RESOLUTION 324
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TIBURON REQUESTING THE
MARIN COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
ADOPT AN ORDINANCE REGULATING AERIAL
ADVERTISING.
WHEREAS, the City of Tiburon has recently been subjected
to various forms of insensitive and degrading advertising by
miscellaneous aircraft; and
WHEREAS, this type of aerial advertising must certainly be
considered an infringement and invasion of the natural peace and
tranquility of not only the Tiburon community, but the adjoining
cities and counties in Marin as well; and
WHEREAS, it is the understanding of the City Council that
the County of Marin is legally empowered to enact legislation regu-
lating such aerial advertising; and
WHEREAS, pollution of our environment, whether it be land,
air, water or sky, is of mutual and critical concern to everyone.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
The Tiburon City Council does hereby request the Marin
County Board of Supervisors prevent such aerial pollution by
adopting an ordinance which would regulate all forms of aerial adver-
tising.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at an adjourned meeting of the Tiburon
City Council by the following vote: meeting held November 30, 1970
