RESOLUTION NO. ~
A RESOLUTION RELATING TO CITY CONTRACTING
POLICY -- EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
EMPLOYERS
WHEREAS, the City of Tiburon has established in Chapter 3,
Section 11 of the Municipal Code an express prohibition against
the exercise of discrimination in the employment of city personnel;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that such a prohibition,
in keeping with its public policy, should be extended to those
persons, organizations, business and corporations doing business with
the city in the supply of goods and services; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tiburon recognizes
its obligation to exert its leadership in the promotion of employment
for all qualified persons regardless of race, religion, ancestry, or
national origin.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this city government in
the conduct of its public business will contract for goods and
services only from those individuals, organizations, businesses and
corporations which declare themselves to be equal opportunity em-
ployers and, in practice, follow that policy in the conduct of
their business.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Tiburon
at an adjourned meeting held on the 30th day of November, 1970, by
the following vote:
