RESOLUTION NO. 308
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TIBURON PROCLAIMING
ITS INTENTION TO COOPERATE FULLY WITH TIBURON
SANITARY DISTRICT NO.5 IN SOLVING PROBLEMS RE-
LATING TO INFILTRATION OF SANITARY DISTRICT LINES
DURING FLOOD AND STORM CONDITIONS.
WHEREAS, the Board of Governors of Sanitary District
No.5 are unable to maintain an adequate quality of effluent from
their sewage treatment plant during heavy rains because of flood-
ing and infiltarion; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Governors have communicated with the
City of Tiburon on April 8, 1970, soliciting the City's assistance
in eliminating surface flooding in and around the right-of-way of
Downtown Tiburon and the Reed School Drainage Basin (State High-
way 131) in order to reduce whatever effect the surface flooding
may have on infiltration; and
WHEREAS, the Sanitary District No. is under a July 31st
deadline from the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control
Board to present a curative program of action; and
WHEREAS, the matter was heard by the Tiburon City Council
at their meeting of July 13, 1970; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that it is in the
broad interests of the City of Tiburon and its citizens to cooperate
in all possible ways to reduce infiltration caused by flooding;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is the policy of
the City Council of the City of Tiburon to take necessary correc-
tive action to eliminate flooding on Tiburon Boulevard and Paradise
Drive; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Tiburon City Staff be
directed to investigate and make necessary recommendations to
correct the flooding problem; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Council declare its
intentions to implement those recommendations which are appropriate,
effective and financially feasible.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Tiburon
City Council held on July 27 , 1970, by the following vote:
