RESOLUTION NO. 300

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TIBURON RECOMMENDING THE CONTINUANCE AND EXPANSION
OF MARIN COUNTY TRANSIT SYSTEM, INC. LOEAL INTER-
CITY TRANSIT SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the city of Tiburon does acknowledge a critical
need for inter-city public transportation and commuter service; and
WHEREAS, Marin County Transit Systems, Inc.'s concept of
this type of transportation service was originally endorsed by the
Public Utilities Commission granting the original franchise, and
by the Marin County Transit District in granting operational subsidy;
and
WHEREAS, the efforts of the Marin County Transit Systems,
Inc. to provide this type of service have been recognized by the
City of Tiburon;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT the City Council of the City of Tiburon does hereby
recommend that the Marin County Transit System, Inc. continue to
operate and also to expand its local inter-city commute and shopper
bus services; and that the Council recognizes the time element neces-
sary to effect a change in the public's transportation habits and
therefore feels this pilot program should be encouraged as an integral
part of proposed county-wide public transit service~.
