RESOLUTION NO.~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TIBURON ACCEPTING A GRANT DEED TO A PORTION OF THAT
CERTAIN PROPERTY KNOWN AS 1 TAMALPAIS AVENUE FOR
PUBLIC STREET AND HIGHWAY PURPOSES
vffiEREAS, George Sugarman is the owner of record of a portion
of Lot 71, Corrected Map or Corinthian Island, which said property is
commonly known as 1 Tama1pais Avenue, Tiburon, California; and
WHEREAS, the said George 8ugarman had a survey made of said
property and recorded the survey November 19, 1969 in Book 7, Offi-
cial Surveys, page 85, Marin County Records; and
WHEREAS, said record of survey relating the said property to
the County Public Road, commonly known as Main Street, indicates
that a portion of the improved road may lie on the said Lot 71; and
WHEREAS, Main Street as it now exists has been used by the
public and maintained by the City of Tiburon and the County of Marin
for many years; and
WHEREAS, on March 5, 1970, the said George Sugarman offered
to grant to the City of Tiburon record title to the portion of Main
Street that appears to lie upon the land referred to above as 1
~amalpais Avenue; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Tiburon
and its residents to accept said offer;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said grant deed to the
following described property is hereby accepted:
That certain real property situated in the City of Tiburon,
State of California, more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point which bears North 780 03' 031 West 9.443
feet and South 800 IS' 46" West, 43.272 feet from the intersection
of those two certain courses 'North 490 49' West, 116 feee' and
lNorth 730 19' West 273.7 feet-7 describing the centerline of the
old County road from Tiburon to Belvedere, now Main Street in the
City of Tiburon, which point is also the most easterly corner of
Lot 71 of the Corrected Map of Corinthian Island as defined by
the Record of Survey of the same, filed in the office of the
County Recorder for the County of Marin in Volume 7 of Official
Surveys at page 85 and running thence along the southerly line
of said County Road and the northerly line of Lot 71 North 730
19' West, 116.159 feet; thence, leaving said line and running
Southeasterly on a cusp whose center bears South 22000' 47'
West, 431.603 feet through a central angle of 30 01' 06\< and
continuing, tangentially, South 640 5S' 01': East, 35.039 feet,
thence along the arc of a circular curve to the left, whose
center bears North 250 01' 53" East, 352.959 feet through a
central angle of 10 18' 09 to its intersection with the
southerly line of Lot 71, aforesaid, thence along said sou-
therly line, South S30 II' 51" East, 5l.80S feet to the point
of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby in-
structed to record said deed and a certified copy of this resolution
with the Marin County Recorder.
