A RESOLUTION OF TIm CITY OF TIBURON INDICA TING ITS
INTENTION TO ACQUIRE HIIARI'lA/REED SCHOOL lARK SITE
FROM THE HOUSING AUmORITY OF TIlE COUN'lY OF l4\RIN
WHEREAS, the City of Tiburon has previously acknowledged its desire
to acquire a two acre parcel located adjacent to the Hilarita Housing Devel-
ORRant, and
WHEREAS, this particular parcel of land conforms to the City's projected
Open Space acquisition plans in the Reed basin, and
WHEREAS, there has been recent indication of the City possibly securing
a matching fund Land acquisition grant from HUD for this land,
NOW, 'l'HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT the City Council of the City of Tiburon does hereby authorize the
Mayor of Tiburon to enter into an agreement with the Housing Authority of
Marin for purchase of this 2.0 acre parcel of land for a park site for the
total selling price of $36,000 after removal of all on-site improvements.
However, said authorization being subject to the City of Tiburon's prior
written approval from HUD of a one-half matching fund acquisition grant for
the purchase of this property; and
BE IT FURmER RESOLVED:
The City Council of the City of Tiburon does hereby authorize the Mayor
and City staff to further negotiate with the Housing Authority of Marin for
a definitive agreement to be reviewed and considered by the City Council and
authorizes and directs the staff to obtain appraisals or other evidence of
the value of the subject property.
PASSED AND ADOPTED a t a regular meeting of the Tiburon City Counc!l
held on January 10th , 1972, by the following vote:
