RESOLUTION NO. 390
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TIBURON FINDING THAT THE DIVISION OF HIGID1AYS
PLAN FOR DEVELOPMENT OF TIBURON BOULEVARD INTO A
FOUR LANE HIGm~AY IS UNACCEPTABLE AND RECOMr.mND-
ING I~~mDIATE It~ROVEMENTS OF THE EXISTING
ROAm'lAY .
NHEREAS, the question of whether, and to what extent, any
additional lanes on Tiburon Boulevard will be required is
presently under study by the City of Tiburon, along with reaxam-
ination of densities on the Peninsula; and
~mEREAS, the City of Tiburon finds unacceptable the
Division of Highway's plan for adding an additional four lane
highway on shoreline and bayfilli and
NHEREAS, the City of Tiburon finds that Tiburon Boulevard
in its present condition is inadequate and unsafe and that it
must be brought up to the maximum possible conditions of safety;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT the City Council of the City of Tiburon does urgently
recommend that the Division of Highways assign the highest
priority its immediate improvements of Tiburon Boulevard to its
maximum safe holding capacity, including but not limited to the
following:
10 Adequate realignment of Tiburon Boulevard at Trestle
Glen and elsewhere to improve sight lineso
2. Appropriate stacking lanes.
3. Resurfacing and provision for adequate shoulders and
turn-out points.
4. provisions for safe passage of vehicular traffic and
for non-veh~cular crossing.
5. Improve illumination at critical points.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Tiburon at an adjourned meeting held on September 20, 1971, by
the following vote:
