A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TIB~RON REQUESTING THE STATE AS:EMBLY WAYS
AND MEANS COIvIMITTEE TO RECONSIDER AND APPROVE
SENATE BILL NO. 265
WHEREAS, biking and bikeways are now recognized as a
dynamic new dimension in community planning, and a whole new
world of fun, physical fit~ans and pleasant family recreation; and
WHEREAS, bicycling enthusiasm in the City of Tiburon has
likewise developed a parallel concern for the safety of the bicy-
clists; and
~'lHEREAS, the Barin County Board of Supervisors endorsed this
Senate Bill because of the utmost importance to bicyclists and
motorists in the State of California by virtue of the safety which
standard signs ,O/ould afford; and
WHEREAS, the stand~rd bike route sign has been adopted
nationally;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
THAT the City Council of the City of Tiburon does hereby
request the State Assembly WaYJ and Means Committee to reconsider
and approve Senate Bill No. 265 at the earliest possible opportunity
and thereby provide the cities and counties of California a
simplified method for acquiring and establishing bicycle routes,
appropriate paths and route signing, and the authority to keep un-
authorized vehicles and object3 off of bicycle paths.

of the City of Tiburon held on
